The WEAVE Shared Services Portal
The WEAVE Africa program is an incubation initiative designed to drive inclusive economic growth by empowering young women entrepreneurs and women-led investment vehicles (IVs) across Africa. As part of this effort, the Shared Services Platform (the “Platform”) was launched by Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), with funding from the Mastercard Foundation, to strengthen the operational capacity of IVs participating in the program.
The Platform connects emerging IV managers with vetted legal, fund administration, audit, and tax service providers. During the first three years, the program will support IVs that have received funding from MEDA, either through capital commitments or warehousing capital. IVs using service providers through the Platform will gain access to services at negotiated, reasonable rates.
In addition, the program will provide a grant over three years to support the setup of investment vehicles and other fund operational needs. All IVs onboarded onto the Platform are eligible for this support, regardless of their year of operation or specific operational requirements.
The Platform was jointly designed by Solt Advisory and MEDA, with Solt serving as the implementing partner. It complements the Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund’s support to IVs, contributing to equitable economic transformation across Africa and advancing employment and economic resilience.
